Vice President Dick Cheney is in Louisiana to help raise money for two Republican candidates for Congress.
Cheney arrived Monday morning for a fundraiser in Kenner for Congressman Steve Scalise of Jefferson. Scalise faces Democratic challenger Jim Harlan in the 1st Congressional District election next month.
Cheney then heads to a Baton Rouge gathering for state Senator Bill Cassidy, who is running against Democratic Congressman Don Cazayoux of New Roads. Cassidy, Cazayoux and independent Michael Jackson square off in the November 4 election for the 6th Congressional District.
