Call it trading places.  The buildings of two church congregations weren’t working for each of them so they’ve agreed to swap facilities.  News Channel 5’s Joel Massey has the story.

Two Pineville churches are switching locations to best suit their needs.  Lee Heights Family Church and Donahue Family Church are exchanging their facilities.  For Lee Heights Pastor James Greer it’s a homecoming because he pastored Donahue for 18 years until 2002.

Two years ago the Donahue’s former pastor Keith Dickens started a school called Cenla Christian Academy and the church bought Cowboy Town for 5 million dollars hoping to relocate there.  Dickens was asked to leave by the board of elders and then voted out by the congregation leaving behind a lot of debt.  Donahue couldn’t find a buyer for Cowboy Town and recently it reverted to owner Ken Moran.  But both pastors don’t want to dwell on the past.

Donahue will now be called Journey Church and Lee Heights will be renamed The Gathering Place.

Cenla Christian Academy will continue to operate at their current campus.  The school will be supported by their former church for 6 months.
