The Mighty Thomas Carnival appears at the 2008 Rapides Parish Fair, in Alexandria, October 8-12, 2008. The traveling show will provide thrilling rides, fun games, and tasty carnival treats at the Coliseum fairgrounds for the 26th straight year. Founded in 1928, in Lennox, South Dakota, by Art B. Thomas, the carnival is now based near Austin, Texas, and is providing its 81st season of summer fun and excitement for fair-goers, including 45 events in nine states. The tour starts in Laredo in early February, routes through Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Utah, Arkansas, and Louisiana then returns to Texas, late in October.
