It’s a show we’re told will make you laugh… and then cry… and then laugh again… and then cry some more. “theatre louisiana college” is now performing “The Boys Next Door” by Tom Griffin. All showings are in the Martin Performing Arts Center on the campus of Louisiana College.  Evening performances will be held November 5-6 and November 12-14.  Matinee performances will be 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 8th and November 15th.

The Boys Next Door” is set in a communal residence in a New England city, where four mentally handicapped men live under the supervision of an earnest, but increasingly “burned out” young social worker named Jack. Mingled with scenes from the daily lives of these four, where “little things” sometimes become momentous (and often very funny), are moments of great poignancy when, with touching effectiveness, we are reminded that the handicapped, like the rest of us, want only to love and laugh and find some meaning and purpose in the brief time that they are allotted on this earth.

The all Louisiana College cast for “The Boys Next Door” includes: Kris Prestridge as Jack; Cameron Weatherford as Arnold Wiggins; Brad Duffy as Lucien P. Smith; Michael Canella as Norman Bulansky; John Willie as Barry Klemper; Jessica Galloway as Sheila; Mason Hess as Mr. Hedges, Mr. Corbin, and Senator Clark; Mary Evelyn Dirks as Mrs. Fremus, Mrs.Warren and Clara; and Dr. David Sharp as Mr. Klemper.

Tickets are $12-general admission and may be reserved by calling 318-487-7227.
