On October 12, 2008 at approximately 6:00 am Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop a green Ford F350 on Blue Lake Road in Forest Hill, La. The vehicle failed to stop and led deputies on a pursuit into a local hunting club. During the pursuit a deputy saw Jerry Lynn Cloud looking back at his patrol car and recognized him. CLOUD crossed terrain the patrol cars could not cross. At approximately 1100 am deputies checking the back side of the hunting club found CLOUD’s vehicle disabled, but running after striking a stump near Pisgah Cemetery. Deputies called detectives from the narcotics division to the scene. A search of CLOUD’s vehicle was conducted. The following common components used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were located; suspected sulfuric acid, Coleman fuel, coffee filters, sodium hydroxide, four cases of matches and a hydrogen chloride gas generator. Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office Haz-Mat responded rendered the scene safe and collected items for disposal. Narcotics detectives are obtaining warrants for CLOUD and encourage anyone knowing his whereabouts to contact the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-473-6700.
CLOUD was on bond after being arrested by Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives on March 30, 2008 for Creation / Operation of a Clan Lab, Possession of CDS II, Illegal Carry of Weapons – Drugs, Possession Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Signal.
