A corporate training expert from Georgia will head a new program to provide employee recruitment, screening and training for businesses in Louisiana. The Louisiana FastStart program will be available to both new and expanding companies.
Governor Bobby Jindal says the program will be headed by Jeff Lynn, who currently works with a similar program in Georgia. That state has provided recruitment and training for such companies as
Cessna, AT&T, and several automakers. Officials say Louisiana FastStart will be in full operation by
late 2009.
Manufacturing and research-and-development companies will have to commit to at least 15 jobs. Service-related companies will have to create at least 50 jobs. FastStart will be provided at no cost.
