The Bexar County Adult Probation Office has launched a formal investigation into Karla Escobar, a probation officer with the department since 2005.
Escobar has explicit pictures posted on a pornographic website.
Escobar has been put on administrative leave, and the county is considering firing her.
The adult probation director tells us he never knew about the pornographic website, but now we’re finding that someone in the office may have known about it and never took action.
“We are currently investigating the total situation, including what you just brought forth,” Director William Fitzgerald said.
There is little he can comment on because this is a personnel matter.
Escobar didn’t want to speak on camera, but over the phone she said the pictures were taken a long time ago.
She doesn’t own the website, and while she once made money off the site, she no longer sees a profit.
Escobar also tells us when she started working with the adult probation office she told her immediate bosses about the site.
“The first I’ve heard about it was from you,” said Director Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald admits that Escobar is a good worker, and his office has never had any problems with her.
Still, he believes this is a violation of his office’s ethics code.
“We have policies and I did check that out, regarding anything pornographic. But it’s for employees that are [currently] onboard here,” said Fitzgerald. “I think it’s along the lines of anything unethical or immoral.”
Escobar did tell us she’s tried to take the website off the internet, but because she doesn’t own it or the pictures anymore, she hasn’t had any luck removing the pornographic images.
Director Fitzgerald says his office will continue to investigate the matter and take Ms. Escobar’s situation into consideration.
Escobar is currently on maternity leave.
She is part of the probation officers’ union, and their attorney contacted us to say they continue to try and work out the situation.

if this really is something that happened before this girl made something of herself they should just leave her alone. someone must have it out for her and if it was someone on probation then that should be taken in consideration. i dont agree with her doing what she did but some people make bad decisions when they are young. as long as she isnt still doing this i see no problem for her to continue her job.
