PINEVILLE, La. (AP) - Police say a couple faces charges after they reportedly left their three children home alone.
Arrested were 28-year-old Tiffany Jeannette Hayes and 31-year-old William Joseph McCain, both of Pineville, who were booked with child desertion. Hayes also faces a charge with assault.
According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, someone
alerted deputies that the children were home alone. When deputies
arrived at the home around 10:30 p.m. Saturday they discovered
three children—all under 10—home alone.
The two came home about 10 minutes later and told deputies that
they’d just gone to the store.
Deputies say the children were turned over to a relative.
