The gas leak in South Fort Polk housing has been controlled and all residents are now returning to their homes.

Minor gas leak in South Fort Polk housing - some residents are ordered to evacuate
FORT POLK, La. - At approximately 1:30 this afternoon, Fort Polk Department of Services workers discovered a gas leak in the South Fort Polk housing area.
As a safety precaution, residents of the 5200 blocks of Monroe and Michael Loop are being evacuated to the Siegfried Youth Center.
Fort Polk Military Police, Department of Emergency Service and Department of Public Works officials are on the scene.
Students will not be released from school early, however, when school dismisses, students living in those areas will be taken to the Youth Center.
Details of the gas leak are unknown at this time. However, no injuries have been reported.
