BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A man pleaded no contest and his brother pleaded guilty to reduced charges in a 2007 drug-related contract killing outside a fast food restaurant in Baton Rouge.
Travis Renard James and Troy Lee James were among six people charged in the Jan. 22, 2007, shooting death of 19-year-old Antonio
Coleman.
State District Judge Trudy White sentenced Travis James, who has been in jail since his arrest, to five years in prison on the
accessory charge with credit for time served.
The judge relieved Travis James of his bond obligation, allowing
for his immediate release.
White sentenced Troy James to five years in prison on the
accessory charge and 15 years on the obstruction charge but
suspended both terms and put him on active supervised probation for
five years.
