Moreno Leads, Jefferson Sinks in N.O. Poll
Former TV anchor Helena Moreno leads a close pack of contenders in a 2nd Congressional District poll, which shows incumbent Bill Jefferson sinking.
The Southern Media poll was commissioned by candidate Troy Carter. This is how the candidates were identified and the results: former newsperson Helena Moreno, 14.9 percent; New Orleans City Council member James Carter, 12.7; former State Representative Troy C. Carter, 12.4; incumbent Congressman Bill Jefferson, 12.4; State Representative Cedric Richmond, 7.3; Jefferson Parish Council member Byron Lee, 7; Kenya Smith, 2.3; Undecided, 31.
