The first event will be the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 5951 presenting plaques to Col. West Anderson, vice-wing commander for the 2nd Bomb Wing, in honor of the crew of Raider 21 that went down July 21. The ceremony will be held tomorrow at the 8th Air Force Museum from 10 to 11:00 a.m.
The second event will be a luncheon sponsored by the Retiree Activities office on Barksdale honoring World War II veterans. Reportedly there will be 39 former prisoners of war (7 from the Bataan Death March), 52 Purple Heart recipients as well several other WWII veterans. The luncheon will be held at Hoban hall on base starting at noon on Saturday.
