In a Special Council meeting today the Mayor asked the Council to confirm the appointment of a new Director of Human Resources, Greg Foster and the appointment of Jannease Seastrunk as Director of Community Services.
The Alexandria City Charter gives the Mayor the power to re-organize his administration but the City Council decides whether to approve the funding of these positions.
Today the Council approved a new pay plan for the classified employees of the city but then delayed to approve the Mayor’s appointees, setting up a power struggle.
