LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A 63-year-old Lake Charles man convicted of three sex charges in October has been sentenced to eight years in prison—five of them suspended, and two of the emaining three without parole.
Daniel R. Davis was accused of having sexual contact with a boy from 1993 to 1998, when the boy was ages 12-16.
Davis was convicted last fall on two counts of molestation of a juvenile and one count of sexual battery. A six-member jury
acquitted him on two other sexual battery counts and one other
molestation charge.
At the request of defense attorney Tom Lorenzi on Monday, Judge
David Ritchie set a $75,000 appeal bond. If Davis posts the bond,
he can be released while his convictions are appealed.
