Authorities say a man on Texas’ most wanted list and “America’s Most Wanted” has been in Lincoln Parish under the name of his deceased grandfather for about eight months.
Sheriff Mike Stone says a tip from an informant led to the arrest of Sidney Ira Campbell, who had been using the name William Moore until an acquaintance discovered his true identity. Stone say the 25-year-old, who had eluded lawmen for eight years, is wanted on about a dozen charges in Texas and Louisiana.
Authorities say Campbell recently was indicted on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child following an accusation by his girlfriend’s daughter. When police came to arrest him at his mother’s home in Kilgore, Texas, he escaped into the woods behind the house.
