A preliminary autopsy report indicates the death of a Bossier City woman was heat-related.

Officials say 75-year-old Patsy Ferlito was found dead inside her home. Police say the woman’s son went to check on her Monday night and found her unresponsive.

City spokesman Mark Natale says the house did not have air conditioning and all the windows were closed. He says it was extremely hot inside the residence when emergency crews arrived.

Natale says a box fan was operating in the bedroom where Ferlito was found, but no windows were open.
