Farm market reports from the Louisiana Department of Agriculture:

LIVESTOCK: Summary of Louisiana livestock markets at Baton Rouge and Kinder on Aug. 4.

CATTLE: 988. TRENDS: Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold steady to 2 lower. Feeder steers sold 2-3 higher. Feeder heifers sold steady to 3 higher.

CATTLE PRICES: Slaughter cows boners 51-59.50. Feeder steers medium and large frame 1-2, 300-400 lbs 112-121, 400-500 lbs 100-113. Feeder heifers medium and large frame 1-2, 300-400 lbs 93-107, 400-500 lbs 87-97. Cow-calf pairs 660-770.

BROILERS: f.o.b. dock prices Aug. 5, 94 cents.

SWEET POTATOES: Aug. 5 f.o.b. shipping point and f.o.b. delivered, 40-lb. cartons, Beauregard types, U.S. No 1 cured 16-18.

GRAIN: Aug. 5 cash soybean prices paid to farmers by Louisiana country grain elevators by area: northeast delta 11.68-11.83; central delta 11.74-12.03; southwest area 11.99.

COTTON: Aug. 5. North Delta mid 31-35 inch 63.72; SLM 41-34 62.22; purchases 0. South Delta mid 63.72; SLM 62.22; purchases 0.
