If you were near Jackson Street today around noon you probably couldn’t help but smell the barbecue chicken. That’s because Troop E and the Sabine State Bank teamed up to raise money for the I Wish foundation to help terminally ill children in Cenla.
Rapides Parish Police Juror Steve Coco tells us with the chicken sales and a thousand dollar donation from Union Pacific Railroad they raised a little more than seventy two hundred dollars, a thousand dollars more than last year.
All that money will go to help a child because everything was donated by local organizations.
And in one final bit of charity, the chicken that was left over was donated to the women’s shelter in Alexandria.
