Hurricane season is here and in the event of a loss of electricity generators can provide power for a few items but there are some tips you need to know to stay safe.

Provide adequate ventilation and air cooling around the generator to prevent overheating and the accumulation of carbon monoxide.

Don’t refuel it while it’s running.

If you want to connect a generator directly through your home’s wiring use a licensed electrician.

Keep the gas fresh.  And if you don’t plan on using the generator for up to 30 days use a gas stabilizer.
