Gustav continues to swirl toward the Gulf of Mexico.

It’s path could disrupt oil and gas facilities.

The impending storm is leading Gulf Coast gas stations to increase gasoline prices 10 cents or more per gallon in the last 24 hours.

Mobile, Alabama resident Preston Ferguson missed paying less by just a few hours.

“I noticed it was a little cheaper this morning when I was driving to work, but a lot of people have been coming in where I work saying, ‘Go get gas…Go get gas,’” Ferguson said.

Jimmy Eisenhower manages 10 gas stations in the Mobile area he says his company watches the futures market like a hawk.

He gets a call whether it goes up or down.

“By tonight when we get another load in here its going to cost us 15 more cents a gallon than what we paid for it yesterday,” Eisenhower said.

Managers can “up” the price anytime, unless the governor declares a state of emergency.

Even then prices at the pump can go up 25 percent of that station’s average price for the month.
