Congressman William Jefferson has picked up endorsements from a group of New Orleans area ministers for his
re-election bid. The endorsements by close to two dozen black ministers were
announced Monday morning.

Jefferson finished first, with about 25 percent of the vote, in the Oct. 4 Democratic primary despite his indictment on federal corruption charges. He faces a Nov. 4 runoff with the second-place finisher, former television reporter Helena Moreno.

Jefferson is seeking his 10th term in Congress, representing a district that covers most of New Orleans and parts of Jefferson Parish.

I’m shure if he had committed murder, the clergymen would endorse him because of his race.  Sad, but one day it’ll come back on them.
