FORT POLK, La. - The Department of Defense announced today that Private Janelle Franshawn King, 23, of Merced, California died on August 14, in Iraq from a non-combat related cause.
King was a Health Care Specialist assigned to the 115th Combat Support Hospital. King joined the Army in May 2007 and arrived at Fort Polk in Jan. 2008.
Circumstances surrounding the Soldier’s death are under investigation.
