The Red Cross of Central Louisiana is advising evacuees to pick-up an “Information Check Point Map” to learn what evacuation shelters will be open to evacuees.
“We have the check points that are on the map, that the state has put out. And, when they open the check points people can go there and they’ll learn where the closest open shelter is located. And, they’ll get a map on how to get there,” explains Red Cross Regional Volunteer Coordinator, Richard Boykin.
The check point maps are readily available at locations south of Interstate Highway 10. For more information contact the Red Cross of Central Louisiana (318) 442-6621.
