An Arnaudville man has been indicted in a failed 2005 attempt to rob the Chase Bank in Carencro.

A St. Landry Parish grand jury indicted 30-year-old Calvin James Catalon on two counts of aggravated kidnapping and one count of aggravated burglary for incidents that led to that attempted robbery. Prosecutors say Catalon entered the bank on Sept. 16, 2005, with a bank employee, who was held hostage, and tried to rob the bank at gunpoint.

Police say DNA evidence collected at the scene helped them to identify the suspect.
