A decision has been made about one of the new positions Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy is looking to add to his administration. News Channel 5’s Joel Massey has more from the meeting.
The Alexandria City Council approved the appointment of Jannease Seastrunk as director of community services. But the verdict is still out on whether or not Greg Foster will be named as the new director of human resources. City Councilman Chuck Fowler said he doesn’t know why it was delayed again.
This is the third time that the council has delayed Foster’s appointment. The City Charter gives the mayor the power to reorganize his administration but the city council had to approve the funding of those positions. In a memo to the council the mayor detailed the reorganization of his staff providing job descriptions for all the positions. Fowler says he supports the mayor’s appointments.
The decision on Foster’s position was postponed for two weeks.
