Lindsay Drury and her friend have invited News Channel 5 to this backyard on Horseshoe Drive to meet their good friend Charlie. The Truth About Charlie—he’s a squirrel.
Back during the Gustav destruction, there were so many broken tree branches and knocked over trees, alas, a lot of squirrels didn’t survive. But Charlie is a survivor. He lost his mom, dad, and brothers and sisters—so now he’s got the family reputation to uphold.
The girls started him on puppy milk in this baby bottle, started him a little cage- then this caged in area of a tree, in the past few months Charlie has upgraded to a diet of plums and now he can climb any tree in the yard he likes.
He’s struggling to build a nest for himself, out in the world on his own but he still remembers who gave him that helping hand.
The girls say he’ll even come into THEIR HANDS.
