Aces lefthanded pitcher, Chad Linder, had his contract purchased on Wednesday by the Detroit Tigers. Next spring, he’ll be assigned to the Tigers Class “A” Midwest League affiliate, the West Michigan Whitecaps. He’s the sixth Aces player to be signed by a Major League organization since 2006.
Linder, who’s from Tyler, Texas, posted a 7-3 record with the Aces this past season. A 2008 ULB All-Star selection, Chad finished the season ranked in the league’s top 10 in ERA, strikeouts, and innings pitched.
Linder becomes the 27th player in the history of United League Baseball to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization.
