Nine people are at a hospital after a car struck a school bus in Lafayette and caught fire.
The bus was carrying 15 elementary students. Officials say a mother and her two children were pulled to safety from the burning car by residents of a nearby apartment complex and taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Six children on the bus also were take to a hospital for observation.
It isn’t clear what caused the accident. Authorities say none of the injuries appear to be life threatening.
