NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) - Jonathan Daily threw for 224 yards and
accounted for four touchdowns and James Noble ran for 118 yards on
eight carries and a score to help Cal Poly beat Northwestern State
52-18 on Saturday night.
Cal Poly (2-1) took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter when Daily
scored on a 2-yard run and threw a 4-yard touchdown to Ramses
Barden, who finished with nine catches for 176 yards. Daily also
ran for 33 yards on six carries.
Byron Lawrence scored on a 5-yard run to cut the lead to 14-7,
but Northwestern State (2-2) couldn’t draw closer. Daily connected
with Tredale Tolver for a 45-yard touchdown and Noble scored on a
33-yard run to push Cal Poly’s lead to 28-7 in the second quarter.
Ryan Mole, who had 51 yards on eight carries, scored on a 4-yard
run in the third for Cal Poly.
John Hundley, who completed 13-of-30 passes, threw for 213 yards
and a touchdown for Northwestern State. Byron Lawrence ran for 62
yards on 11 carries.
