Members of Houma’s newest Mardi Gras parade club say the organization will make its second ride in 2010 despite alleged financial mismanagement by former leaders.

The Krewe of Tut held its first parade during Carnival celebrations in February. But there have been allegations made that thousands of dollars in worthless checks were written to hold that first parade. One former Tut member faces three worthless-check-writing charges in Lafourche Parish. Members who gathered in Houma this week for a krewe meeting say those who were accused of mismanagement are no longer with the club.

Although membership has fallen from nearly 200 to around 38, the krewe plans to open membership again in July after settling its debts.
