Some central Louisiana residents have noticed a strange sight on their trees.
Webs similar to ones a spider would weave appear on the tree but they look different.
The LSU Ag Center tells us that’s because the web is made by a bug called the bark lice.
This is a bug that actually protects your tree since the bark lice eats the algae off of the tree bark.
Although parts of the tree get covered by webs the bark lice are actually performing a service and cleaning the tree.
