A violent altercation just outside of Alexandria city limits happens Tuesday night and a young man is shot during the incident.
It happened on Dublin Street just off of highway one in the Kellyland subdivision.
Here’s what the Rapides Parish Sheriffs Office told us happened just after 9:30 Tuesday night.
Eighteen year old Kedric Madden was shot after a verbal altercation between two groups in the street. As the groups were leaving the area
18 year old Tavares Dixon allegedly fired at least five random shots. One of those rounds hit Madden in the chest. He later died at the hospital.
Dixon, the alleged shooter turned himself into police about two Wednesday morning. He’s charged with one count of second degree murder.
R.P.S.O. is still investigating the incident.
