Motel Robbery
41 year old Brian Essex of Jacksonville TX won’t have a good story to tell about his trip to Alexandria.
On Sunday (10-12-08) Essex says, while staying at the Alexandria Inn, that an unknown black male knocked on his door to offer him his wares….his wares being crack and a prostitute.
Essex told the man he wasn’t interested in either the crack or the prostitute and told him to leave.
A little while later, sometime around 9 pm, Essex heard another knock on the door and when he opened was greeted with a silver gun to the face.
It was the same man from before.
The suspect grabbed $500 out of Essex’s front right pocket…how the suspect knew it was there is anyone’s guess.
Essex called the police and told them the only thing he knew was that the man was wearing a red zip-up jacket.
Grocery Store Robbery
Going to the grocery store at 2 pm on a Friday afternoon shouldn’t be dangerous but certainly can be as 20 year old Justin Hudson found out on 10-10-08.
Hudson says he was coming out of the B and M Grocery store on 1436 Vance when he says Marcus D. Darcey, a black man aged 22 or 23, came up to him and asked him where his money is.
Justin said he didn’t know what Marcus was talking about and then Justin saw Marcus’s cousin, a 20 or 21 year man named King, run across the street in his direction.
Justin then took off running but the men overtook him, beating him and running off with his cell phone and $135 in cash.
He went back to the store and called the police.

Calhoun says a 30 year old black man named Lynwood Bell and an unnamed girlfriend were fighting.
The report doesn’t mention why Bell was at the residence.
The girlfriend then threw a curling iron at Bell.
Calhoun says Bell grabbed the 12 year old girl and used her as a shield.
The curling iron then struck the little girl in the face.
The officer notes she had a swollen right eye and small scratches between her eyes.
No word if Bell was arrested.
Monroe Street Fight
2 o’clock in the morning is a dangerous time to be walking around as two women found out Saturday (10-11-08.)

When the officer arrived 23 year old Monique Morris said she and her friend, 38 year old Gail Jackson were walking to the store.
When they were in the area of Monroe and Chester Street, Morris says an unknown black male approached them.
She told the man she didn’t want to talk and she says the man grabbed her by the shirt, prompting her to defend herself.
Morris says the man then pulled out a knife and began swinging it at her, slashing her several times.
The report states she had knife wounds to her left leg, right leg, right arm, neck and head.
The officer also notes her friend, Jackson, had a wound to her right arm, which she says she received from trying to help Morris.
