Around 9:15 pm Wednesday night Kristin McBride received quite a shock.
That’s when she opened her locker in the nurse’s lounge at Rapides Regional and discovered her iPhone, MasterCard, target credit card and $47 in bills were missing.
She told the officer her MasterCard had a picture of a yellow flower on it.
McBride also told the officer that her co-workers said they saw a housekeeper dressed in a white shirt and maroon pants in the area but no one knew her because she was new.
McBride, keeping her cool, called her bank and they told her a transaction was made on her MasterCard (the one with the yellow flower) at the McDonald’s inside Rapides Regional.
The purchase totaled $3.79 and was made at 9:40 pm.
McBride said she called McDonald’s and they told her a black female wearing a white shirt and maroon pants made a purchase with a MasterCard with a yellow flower on it.
At that point the housekeeping supervisor located the suspect, Tamika Johnson, age 20.
Johnson, upon questioning, denied ever going to the nurse’s lounge.
When the officer told Johnson the staff gave a description of her clothes she said she had been working all evening.
When the officer told Johnson the McDonald’s staff also gave a description of her clothes and that they can check who was in the locker room by simply looking at the surveillance video, Johnson said she really had to go to the bathroom.
When the officer asked Johnson what she had in her pockets, Johnson told her she had her boyfriend’s iPhone and some money, $47 to be exact.
Johnson, when asked about what else was in her pockets, said nothing.
Moments later the MasterCard, yellow flower design and all, and the Target card were found in Johnson’s pocket.
Moments after that Johnson found herself in handcuffs, charged with Felony Theft over $500 and more than likely without a job.
Targeted!!!
Apparently, to use a colloquialism, Target Don’t Play!
Two employees, 18 year old Andrew Clayton and 19 year old DeMario Fulton, are accused of receiving unauthorized mark-downs on purchases from other employees
Target says Clayton defrauded the store for $94.98 and Fulton did the same to the tune of $73.95.
Both were placed under arrest on 10-08-08 for Theft under $300.
These are not the first arrests made of this kind recently at Target.
Target also says they have the whole incident on camera.
Not Exactly Mall Walking
It’s entirely possible that 26 year old Haley Blackmon just forgot to pay for that $36 black Newport shirt, that $34 gray Step Ahead shirt, that $20 brown Limit shirt, that $59 gray JJ Basics dress, that $24 white Nike t-shirt, that $15 brown 15 shirt, that $18 brown vest, that $59 black I N dress, that $39 black I N sweater, that $45 pink Adidas tank top and that $10 tan Cooper Key t-shirt but more than likely she just walked out of Dillard’s thinking she had just made off with the loot.
The cops had another idea for Blackmon.
It all happened after a security person watched Blackmon walk into a clothing room with a large bundle of clothes and then walk out of the store with three bags full of clothes, totally bypassing the cashier.
That’s when they arrested Blackmon on 10-08-08 and charged her with Theft between $300-$500.
