Dope Charge Beatdown

29 year old Charles Jackson said he just wasn’t going to take that dope charge.

Here’s the scene: it’s shortly after midnight Thursday morning (11-20-08) and an officer has just been dispatched to 211 Fourth Street in reference to a battery.

Once there the officer meets Jackson who recounted the following story: Jackson said he got into an argument with a middle aged man named Russell Johnson about taking a dope charge.

Jackson didn’t want it; Johnson wanted him to take it.

After Jackson refused he says Johnson told another man named Tedrick Jones to beat him up.

Jones complied with Johnson’s request by picking up a stick and hitting Jackson in the stomach and on the right side of his body.

Neither suspect was around so the officer told Jackson a report would be on file.

No idea what the dope charge was for.

Sterling Behavior

It’s 11 am Wednesday morning (11-19-08) and 48 year old Charlie Metoyer is following a white SUV with two occupants: 26 year old Tia Sterling and 22 year old Ashley Sterling.

Metoyer had just gotten into an argument with Tia after she came to his job (Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel) and began searching through his vehicle.

Metoyer was busy working; it was his boss who saw Tia searching the car.

When Metoyer confronted Tia she yelled at him for her things (they are obviously going through a breakup or something.)

Metoyer tells Tia to leave and she does but then he realizes his keys are missing.

So Metoyer gets in a company vehicle and follows the Sterling’s all the way to 3611 Hollywood Drive where the cops stop them.

Officers question Ashley who says Tia called her for a ride so she could get her things.

Ashley admits she picked up Tia and brought her to Metoyer’s job.

Ashley says she saw Tia open Metoyer’s back hatch but did not see her go into the vehicle.

When Tia got into the car Ashley says she drove to her home on Hollywood because she saw Metoyer following them.

The cops then ask Ashley if they can search her vehicle for Metoyer’s keys but no keys are found.

When questioned, Tia says she was looking for her things in Metoyer’s car but when she realized he only had his work clothes she left.

Nevertheless, she is charged with 1 count of Simple Burglary of a Vehicle and a Contempt of Warrant charge from a previous run in with the law.
