Police say they were called to check on fifty-six-year-old Tony Varrette after he didn’t show up for work at John Ehret high school. When police got to his home, Varrette was found a bathroom with a slit throat. An investigation led to 20-year-old Louis church. Church, a homeless man, admitted to killing the teacher after being invited into his home for a meal and clean clothes. Church said Varrette woke him up early and that’s when they fought and he pulled the knife. Church faces charges of second degree murder, theft of a vehicle and possession of stolen property.
