It was a week ago today that most Alexandria residents were coming to terms with the fact that beloved Zoo Director Les Whitt had died suddenly. Now attention turns to continuing his legacy and making sure the Zoo’s expansion is funded. Mayor Jacques Roy says two million dollars is earmarked in the SPARC plan to complete the African Exhibit. The administration says that could start as soon as September.
