Michele Godard

News Director

Michele has been a resident of Central Louisiana since 1987. Born in San Francisco, she spent much of her early years growing up in Brentwood, Los Angeles.

During her time in Central Louisiana she has worked in radio and now in television. Her live television appearances began as the spokesperson for a local car dealership. In 1993 Michele began her broadcast journalism career as a Morning Weather Anchor for News Channel 5’s popular “Jambalaya”. Since then she has worked as an Education Reporter, Evening News Anchor and Executive Producer.

In 2002 Michele was named News Director and is seen occasionally on air during breaking news and special projects.

Michele has won several state awards including the Associated Press Best Newscast, Best Spot News and Best Louisiana Education Reporter honors.

One interesting note in her career is that she spent 2 years in the News Channel 5 Sales department before transferring back into news as the Executive Producer.

She lives in Alexandria with her husband Doug and three children, Lauren, and twins Tyler and Caroline.

Her interests include training for triathlons by running, biking and swimming as much as time will allow.
